RTOS/AWR1642BOOST: Confused about txOutpowerBackoffCode

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

What exactly does the following configured parameter affect?

rlUInt32_t  txOutPowerBackoffCode
Concatenated code for output power backoff for TX0, TX1, TX2
b7:0 TX0 output power back off
b15:8 TX1 output power back off
b23:16 TX2 output power back off
b31:24 Reserved

It says that bits 0-7 are reserved for TX0 output power backoff, but what is the significance of the value I enter into that field? The default value is 0, but if I increase that number to 255 (TX0 output power back off maximum) then how does this affect the waveform?
