Hello,

My customer bought AWR1642 boost. They are trying to evaluate it on a car. Their application is occupancy detection. To avoid damage, they are making a case with ABS or PC (Poly Carbonate). Do you see any issues with the materials?

Hello Ken,
We are not experts in the radome material, but Poly carbonate has been used for casing in radar applications. The design needs to be done carefully to reduce the degradation due to the material. You can refer to the following application note for some radome guidlines www.rfbeam.ch/.../AN-03-Radome.pdf
Note that in AWR device the carrier frequency is ~80Ghz.
