IWR1642BOOST: Traffic monitoring chirp configs do not load

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST

Using IWR1642BOOST chip rev 502AC, which I believe makes this an ESR 2.0 board even though it has no sticker.

Using mmwave_sdk_02_00_00_04 demo visualizer 2.0.0.

Using mmwave_industrial_toolbox_2_5_1\labs\lab0013_traffic_monitoring_16xx\chirp_configs\*

I believe this is the correct set of software for this board; please advise if not.

The chirp configs do not load in the demo visualizer. Some commands have an invalid number of arguments, and some required commands are missing. I attempted to address these issues by replacing invalid commands with known-good commands from the demo's included configurations; however, I do not know if the values support the profile and chirp configs specified in the lab. My attempt below:

    Are you getting any errors on the CCS console output? Does the console output the right messages per the demo guide when you run both of the executable files loaded?

  • Charles, thanks for the follow-up. I am not using CCS at the moment, in an attempt to minimize possible factors. I am able to load and run other configs, including the three configs included with the OOB demo app itself. All of the features work, and the board works, but I would like to get the chirp profile for the traffic monitoring example (or some other long-range chirp example) running. It looks like the chirp configs in lab0013 have not been updated for sdk 2.0, but that's just a guess on my part.

    The OOB visualizer doesn't work with the traffic monitoring chirp profile. You can either take the parts of the config and edit a OOB chirp profile or use the traffic monitoring visualizer with the traffic monitoring chirp profile.
