Hello.

I am considering to evaluate PGA460.

In the photograph, there is a thing to cover transducer.

My question is what it is. If you have recommendation, could you please let me know?

    The material used to hold the transducer in place is urethane sponge. This material allows the transducer to freely resonate in a targeted direction without dampening the vibrating mechanics at the shell of the transducer.

    The EVM is typically kitted in a package which includes a similar sponge-like material. The "1.1 PGA460 ultrasonic sensing: How to set up and install the EVM" training video ( training.ti.com/pga460-ultrasonic-sensing-how-set-and-install-evm ) shows you how to re purpose the sponge similarly to what is shown in the photograph above. The black base/stand is not included with the EVM.
