IWR1443: Can't flash with XDS560V2 and Uniflash

Part Number: IWR1443
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, IWR1642

Hello together,

I am using the IWR1443 on my own PCB design. My PCB has a JTAG interface ( MIPI 14-Pin JTAG Adapter) connected to the IWR device. Not having the XDS110 anymore. I use the  Sprectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM Emulator with the JTAG adapters. In the section software features of the XDS560V2 is mentioned that Uniflash is featured! But I wasn't able to flash yet. I use the latest version of Uniflash ( V4.2.2 ). The SOP jumpers are 101 for flashing mode. The Flash is the S25FL132K ( Spansion). This would be the first time flashing the memory devide.  Uniflash is not finding any device or a COM-Port with the XDS560V2 connected.

My Questions:

1) Is it possible to flash the device with the XDS560V2? If yes, how I'm doing it exactly?

2) Is there any other possibility to flash, like RS232 or CCS? I would be able to connect the RS232-TX & -RX pins of IWR1443 for communicating over UART.

Thanks and regards,

Jan

  • Hello Jan,

The Application/User Uart ("RS232" on the device) is used to flash the device using Uniflash and can be connected to the PC via a USB to serial port adapter so it shows up as a COM port on the PC for Uniflash to use. Please see the information in the following thread for the similar IWR1642 device.
