IWR1642BOOST: Need to use IWR1642 standalone and publish the data on a web server

Hi,

I am new to this community.

I am working with the IWR1642BOOST. I have watched the tutorial videos in which they connect it to a laptop through UART and display the data. Is it possible for me to use it standalone and publish the data on a server. If so, can someone guide me to some tutorial/resource?

Hi Akash,

Have you tried using the latest mmWave Visualizer? You can export the post range, velocity, and angle information into a .csv file using the Record feature. Let me know if you have questions on this.

Hi,

I have used it and am able to export all the data. But, I need to do the same thing in real time but with the sensor mounted on a small bot.

You can just obtain this information over the UART.

I am also trying to do the same. I have been able to parse the data up to the Detected Objects data, but I am not sure what is in the package and what it represents. Can anyone help?

Hi Akash & Wayne,

There are many similar threads which can solve both of your problems.

We were in same position in the past.

Live data - TI is already providing matlab tool which is doing samething.It is collecting information over UART and parses it and updates in graph.mmvisualizer also does the same but it is developed more off TI widgets based.

Parsing data - You can understand frame format by looking at matlab script source (or) mmvisualizer source code (or) by referring uart frame format in source code(mmw_messages.h,mmw_output.h) in your sdk packages.Ideally it is header ,object information.

I am not TI guy.Just like one of the users like you.
