Hi,

i'm looking how to measure water level thru stainless steel bathtub wall. I need about 1..2mm resolution.

Do anyone tested FDC1004 or FDC2xxx chip to measure water level thru metal (stainless steel) 1mm wall or you have some other tips? I need to measure water level but I have only access to all sides and bottom of this bathtub. I cannot put any sensor inside or above so there is big problem for me.

Hi Lukas,

The FDC1004 will not work for this application because the conductive walls will drain charge from the sensors. The FDC2x1x devices may work for this application, depending on the sensitivity you require. I think this application note about both direct and remote liquid level sensing will help you.
