I think OPT3101 is able to sample in 4ksps and interface with MPU by I2C. Can we get 4ksps throughput through RS485 communication if MPU and RS485 performance have enough?
My estimate configuration is below.
OPT3101 -> MPU -> RS485 TX -> RS485 RX -> MPU <---this MPU can get 4ksps throughput
