RTOS/AWR1642BOOST: Limitation on Chirp Configurations for Demo Software?

I am trying to configure the AWR1642 for the maximum number of chirp configurations (512). The AWR1642 has the demo visualizer sw flash and for some reason every time I try to load my configuration file that has 512 chirps, it hangs after the 53rd chirp configuration. I tried this both on my own UART python script and with Tera Term and experienced the same problem in both applications. Is there a limit on 53 chirp configurations for the demo visualizer sw flash? I did not see this problem with the old version of the capture demo.

Hi Samuel,

It could be due to heap memory configuration in the SDK application. Do you want to configure 512 unique chirps?

Else, You can use like
chirpCfg 0 511 0 0 0 0 0 1

My goal was to configure 512 unique chirps. Is there a way to work around the heap memory configuration in the SDK application because the SDK User Guide specifies that 512 chirps can be configured and I'd like to explore this configuration for my application.

Hi Samuel,

Then you need to increase the configured heap size in mmw demo application. Please rebuild the mmw SDK application with below change.

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_<ver>\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\mmw\mss\mss_mmw.cfg
heapMemParams.size = 60*1024;
