RTOS/IWR1443: frame rate limitation

Part Number: IWR1443

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi,

I found the following information from demo visualizer user guide:

If heatmap is selected, reduce the frame rate to less than 5 fps.

Could you please explain this limitation in details? Is it possible to apply a higher frame rate for this case?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Jiadi

  • Hi Jiadi,

Please see the mmWave SDK documentation for the mmw (out-of-box) demo at the following path.
    file:///C:/ti/mmwave_sdk_01_02_00_05/packages/ti/demo/xwr14xx/mmw/docs/doxygen/html/index.html

Specifically, the following is mentioned in the Limitations section:
"Because of UART speed limit (< 1 Mbps), the frame time is more restrictive. For example, for the azimuth and Doppler heat maps for 256 FFT range and 16 point FFT Doppler, it takes about 200 ms to transmit."

    Regards,
    John
  • Thank you. :)
