OPT3101: OPT3101 supports 1310nm wavelength?

Part Number: OPT3101

I have a question. Could you please help to confirm whether OPT3101 supports 1310nm wavelength,

LED and photobond usage scenarios? Is there a filter circuit for ambient light suppression in the chip to make the 850,940nm wavelength optimal?

In the datasheet of OPT3101 (8.2.2.3 Ambient Support, page104), the recommended light source for reference design is LED, the central wavelength is 850nm, and PD is the maximum response center wavelength is 850nm (400-1100nm).

Please help to confirm it as soon as possible.thank you

  • Hi,

OPT3101 is just an AFE (analog front end) so the IC does not constrain the wavelengths used. If you can find optics that work at that wavelength then it will work. However, finding a photodiode at than wavelength may be tricky.

    Best,
