LDC1000: LDC1000 inductance calculation by using SMD inductor

Dear Sir

We want to use SMD inductor to replace coil just like below Figure 1. in our application Figure 2. the object distance is around 6mm, May I know how to calculate the inductance value ? will have any temperature issue at 150degC? thanks.

Hi Lucifer,

I can only see one picture from your post (Figure 2). It is possible to replace PCB inductor with SMD inductor. But, we recommend using PCB inductor because they are very well matched. Even a 5% mismatch between the sensor and reference coil can lead to 25% reduction in sensing range.

Hi Lucifer,

LDC1000 part is now not recommended for new designs. It is strongly recommended not to use this device for your project. We recommend LDC1101 as an alternative.
