IWR1443BOOST: NERRO_ OUT LED (DS1) is lit

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST

On the IWR1443BOOST evaluation module, the NERRO_ OUT LED (DS1) is lit. It seems that the auxiliary data port is now not functioning. The board functioned previous to this point. I have thus far tried the reset button and flashed the board with the 1.02 version of the Radarss firmware.

  • Hi Scott,

    1. Are you able to see the auxiliary data port in Windows Device manager? Which all ports do you see when you connect your board to your PC?

    2. You mentioned that you flashed version 1.02 of the Radarss firmware. Did you also flash the corresponding mmw demo firmware from SDK 1.02? Please note that you need to flash RadarSS and MSS firmware together and from the same SDK version as shown in this thread.

    3. Please make sure that you removed the SOP2 jumper after flashing and rebooted the board.

    4. Have you changed any external factors such as the power supply, PC, etc?

    Regards

    -Nitin

  • Responding to your questions in order:

    1. I am able to see both the User UART and Auxillary Data Port in Device Manager.

    2. I did not flash the MSS firmware. Would that cause the DS1 LED to be turned on and cause issues even when I am not trying to run the demo? When I try to flash the board now, I get the error message: "Error! Module Closed".

    3. The SOP2 jumper was removed after flashing the board.

    4. No external factors have changed to my knowledge.

  • Hi Scott,

Please note that you need to always flash both the RadarSS and MasterSS firmware binaries (and both from the same SDK) as shown in this thread. It looks like flashing just the RadarSS firmware without MSS firmware has left the flash in a bad state. First, follow the instructions provided in the SDK users guide to erase the flash. Then follow the correct procedure to re-flash the EVM with both RadarSS and MasterSS binaries.

    Thanks

    -Nitin
