Does anyone know about the use of 77GHz radar in applications other than automotive? Does that band have an ITU allocation as ISM or similar? We're looking at investigating using the AWR1243 for above ground level sensing on unmanned aircraft, but might be hooped if it's automotive / land based only. Does anyone know the specifics on the allocation?
I searched briefly but couldn't find much information on official allocations and uses, but admittedly it was a short search because the project is so far off on the horizon for us. I know we could use 24GHz ISM, but it seems like most people are phasing that out in favour of 77GHz since it has a wider bandwidth available after 2022.
