Hi Texas Instruments,
I have prototyped a new form of capacitive sensing that has the ability to identify objects and substances regardless of shape or size. It does so by measuring certain intrinsic properties, not just the overall capacitive effect. To my knowledge, it is the only capacitive non-contact sensor that can do so. One current prototype utilises a TI capacitive sensor chip.
I have a short video that demonstrates the sensor in action, and am happy to send a link to anyone at TI that would like to have a look at the capabilities of this new device. I think it's a significant step forward in capacitive sensing.
Regards
George
