AWR1243: CSI2 data flow format

Part Number: AWR1243

Hi,

a customer is using the AWR1243 with CSI2. The Data Flow document at

explains the data format for LVDS for both Non-interleaved mode as well as interleaved mode. For example for the interleaved mode the Figure 22 in the document shows how 8 CBUFF units are mapped to the 4 LVDS lanes.

Since the customer is using CSI2 instead of LVDS, we are looking for a mapping of CBUFF units to what appears on the CSI2 lanes if that is possible. Since CSI2 is a packet interface, and the customer has implemented a CSI2 receiver on an FPGA and data is being received, we would need to know how to interpret that data.

Could you help with that?

Thanks!

  • Hi Gunter,

The Interleaved and Non interleaved is CBUFF configuration which is common buffer for LVDS and CSI2. Transfer on the LVDS/CSI2 lanes would be in the same way as shown in the figure.

Since CSI2 is standard protocol, the data on lane would have CSI headers like HSYNC, VSYNC short packets and Long packets. This can be referred in MIPI CSI2 spec.

Let me know if you are looking for any specific information.

    Regards,
    Kaushal
