Hi experts,

I've followed the user guide very strictly , as you guys wish, and referred to every questions regarding Ethernet Cable disconnection on the community .

However i couldn't figure out why it doesn't work.

Iwr1642boost and DCA100EVM are connected perfectly and i gave a firewall access on mmwave and to be sure, i turn off wifi too.

I hope someone gives me a solution so that i can keep enjoying the device.

I've struggled with this problem for 3days....

Hello Jungsang,
Looks like the Ethernet connection is not happening. Can you make sure you have set the right static IP addresses on the PC?

Apologize for the inconvenience.
Could you check if any firewall on the PC that might be blocking access to the network port 4096/4098 ? Like I said there seems to be something on the PC preventing the Ethernet connection.
I assume you have provided all the right 5V power supply to the DCA1000

Hi Vivek,

not only turning off all firewall but also i turn off wifi as well.

also i use proper two 5V power supply on 1642boost and dca1000

and it still doesnt work. it shows the same error like the picture i uploaded

it's rly frustrating me...

do you know any other reasons why it doesnt work ?

first of all, i surly gave a firewall permission on DCA1000

and in case you doubt about the disconnection between my laptop and the device,

the transmission between them seems fine.

please tell me what can i do to make it work

Hi,

Another suggestion is to re-program FPGA to make sure it's working properly. Please follow DCA1000 user's guide for procedures.

i wonder if 're-program' that you said meant 're-flash FPGA' using diamond programmer.

If it is, i already did it multiple times....

i doubt if it works fine on the latest updated window10 since i saw some threads that it worked fine on old window like window7

I've enjoyed the device, watching the videos that you uploaded on Youtube and those videos were rly helpful.

However, after i received DEVpack, I'm frustrated of it since it doesn't work well, even though i followed everything that your people recommended.

My board's setting is totally same with your board.

I don't think it is my laptop's problem cuz my laptop sends packets to the sensor but unfortunately it doesn't receive any as the picture i attached below

Before trying it on another laptop, i wanna get confirmed that whether or not it is the hardware's problem, otherwise it would be just wasting time.

I can't reach the conclusion it's due to hardware. The board seems working fine except connecting to Ethernet. The fact that no activity over Ethernet could be something blocking the transfer. That's the reason we recommend to try on a different PC. Firewall is one thing, vpn is also capable of blocking Ethernet transfer from DCA1000. Please make sure no vpn is turned on.

As mentioned in DCA1000 user's guide, you could also try WireShark to check data packets sent through Ethernet.

Thanks Michelle, it perfectly worked on my old laptop.
It is so strange that it didn't work on my new laptop. i surely turn off firewall and wifi...

Good to hear, at least to verify the board is working. The new lap is windows 10? My experience is to give mmwave studio firewall access in windows 10 system.

The new one has also window 10.
My assumption why it didn't work on previous laptop is because of Ethernet USB adapter.
My previous laptop, Dell xps9360, doesn't have ethernet port on it , so i had connected my laptop with DCA1000 via Ethernet adapter.
So my conclusion is the adapter somehow has blocked the transmission between the laptop and the device.

Jungsang,

Thanks for the information. Ethernet adapter does have some issue with our connection. It's not clear now which type works and which not.
One possibility is it may work better not to connect the Ethernet adaptor to PC through a USB hub, but to connect directly to PC. Not sure if that applies to your case.

I personally never used usb-Ethernet adapter, so I don't have a recommendation.
