AWR1642BOOST: Capabilities of sensor in non Ideal environment

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
"Driver Vital Signs"  Demo, I have following queries:-
1.  Can sensor detect Vital signs even when there is any obstacle (e.g. Jacket, Badge, Lanyard etc.) between sensor and the person?
2.   Does sensor needs to be placed in line of sight of the chest in order to measure vital signs or person can sit anywhere in field of view of sensor?
3. Does person need to remain stationary while observation? what is the response of sensor if there are vibrations e.g. driving/sitting in a vehicle?
4. What is the response of sensor if there are other (human/non human) moving objects in the field of view of sensor?
Best Regards

  • Vikas,

The Developer's Guide for the Vital Signs Lab addresses several of your questions under the "Limitations of the Current Demo" section.

The sensor should be placed directly in the line of sight of the target individual. This can be either in front of the person or from behind.

As stated in the Developer's Guide, "the user has to be relatively still for at least 10-15 seconds for the demo to effectively work."

This lab was developed and tested in a stationary environment. This demo was not designed for use in a moving vehicle.

Since the sensor is placed in the direct line of sight of the sensor, the last question becomes irrelevant.

Please refer to the documentation provided in the docs folder for more information.

    Regards,
    Kyle
