PGA460: Ferrite bead recommendation for PGA460.

Part Number: PGA460

Hi everyone,

Does anyone a recommendation part number for the ferrite bead on page 104 of the PGA460 datasheet?

Best regards.

  • Hi Oscar,
The ferrite bead is optional. If grounding/system noise is not a major concern, then you can use a 0-Ohm resistor to bridge the analog and digital grounds. We can not recommend a specific ferrite bead value since it is a system dependent process based on the frequency of the unwanted noise. Refer to"Filtering Techniques: Isolating Analog and Digital Power Supplies" on examples to calculate a filter specific values: www.ti.com/.../scaa048.pdf
  • Hi,

Thank you very much for your help. The Application note is very useful. But I have a question, I was trying to see this link:

Because I'm very interested in how to measure the ESR fo a capacitor, but it doesn't work. Could you check if the link is right?

    Best regards.

  • Hi Oscar,

It looks like this URL no longer exists. This app note was written in the year 2001, so you will need to perform a web search to find a more recent/alternative instructional on measuring a capacitor's ESR. I will send a note to our technical writers to remove and/or update this app note's broken links.
