Hi all.

The following waveform is RX1.

It appears that datasheet is larger than the LNA input level.

what is the maximum value of an LNA input?

or is there any problem with the waveform values below?

and I would like to know why I have to set the mode in different configurations of Rx/Tx.

That is,why use mode 1, 2 and 3 separately?

Hello,

Please refer to the 6.5 Electrical Characteristics spec for LNA & PGA in the TDC1000 datasheet. www.ti.com/.../tdc1000-q1.pdf
The LNA has a typical gain of 20dB. The Spec also provides the input range for the same depending on the Rl & Cin values.

As for the different modes, the TDC1000 device has 2 Tx/Rx channels and depending on the usage we can choose/use these channels.
Please refer the section 8.4 Device Functional Modes on the usage of the various modes in this device.

Hi,

The LNA & PGA output range is around Vdd.
Does it matter if input signal exceeds vdd?

In conclusion, What is the maximum value for input signal?

hi,

Customer has inquired further.
There is no difference in test result when comparing mode 1 and mode 2 with the configuration of datasheet 9.2.1.

- Is the difference between modes 1 and 2 only seen as the difference between simple TX / RX connections?

Hi,

The max input signal can be 5.5V or = Vdd.
Unless you use the Water Flow Metering (Using only Mode2) there is no difference between Mode 1 & 2 except the Tx/Rx connections.
