DRV5032: DRV5032DU OUTPUT connected together

Hi

We want to care about implementation error of magnet.

So we are considering DRV5032DU (X2SON package) to detect magnet regardless poles.

It means detect magnet even if the pols is either N or S.

Magnet would be thin cylinder and surface of magnet is faced to IC with one side (N or S). 

So one pole should be detected at once in the system.

To realize this requirement, is it possible to connect out1 and out2 together?

    Hello,

    The DRV5032DU has push-pull outputs as shown in Section 5 of the datasheet. So the complementary outputs cannot be shorted together.

    On the other hand, you can (generally) short complementary open-drain outputs together because only one of the output transistors is driving the output at any time. Please review the DRV5032 open-drain options in Section 5 and let me know if you have any questions.
