IWR1642BOOST: Broken compiler download on Traffic Monitoring demo

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST

Hi team,

A customer has pointed out that the compiler v7.4.16 download link from the Traffic Monitoring page is broken:

http://dev.ti.com/tirex/#/?link=Software%2FmmWave%20Sensors%2FIndustrial%20Toolbox%2FLabs%2FTraffic%20Monitoring

It currently has:

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/forms/self_cert_export.html?prod_no=ti_cgt_c6000_7.4.16_windows_installer.exe&ref_url=http://software-dl.ti.com/codegen/esd/cgt_registered_sw/C6000/7.4.16PC

I know this one that works, from our main CGT download page:

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/forms/self_cert_export.html?prod_no=ti_cgt_c6000_7.4.16_windows_installer.exe&ref_url=http://software-dl.ti.com/codegen/esd/cgt_registered_sw/C6000/7.4.16

Just my quick glance, it looks like there is just a random “PC” added to the end of the url, probably by accident

Then we were wondering, why was such an old version used for this? Can you elaborate on that? Can one use the current compilers (v8.1.3 or v8.2.4) supplied with the latest version of CCSv8.2?

Thanks in advance,

Billy

    Hello Billy,

Thanks this link will be revised in future updates.

We have tested with 8.1.3 compiler but unfortunately the code is not compatible with the newer compilers. The code will compile without error but will not functionally run due to bloat. The people counting and traffic monitoring labs were both optimized for the compiler version specified; upgrading to a new version will be pursued in the future.

  • I understand, thanks for confirming that Amanda.

    Thanks,
