OPT3101EVM: problems installing drivers

I executed the instructions to install the drivers to the letter, but windows tells me that the installation is not possible, I'm using the OPT3101 EVM module on windows 10.

Hi Gregorio,

Are you referring to the instructions for installing EVM drivers in the EVM user guide? This manual installation is usually only needed on windows 7. On windows 10 it works out of the box in all the cases I have seen. Can you please share a screenshot of the error and the EVM devices in devices manager? The board ID (number on the bar code on the EVM PCB) would also be helpful.

I do not know what the ID of the board is, I write the ones I found on the form: DC011E2, E248803, 1205418.

Hi Gregorio,

The ESD bag that the EVM came in should have the ID on it. If you don't have the bag you can also get it off the board itself. There should be a sticker with QR code and number. Where did you get the ID: DC011E2-488031205418 from? It is important if the revision of the EVM is E2, E3, or A. E3 and A is our newest version and supported by the current GUI software. E2 actually uses older software and user guide so if you have an E2 EVM this is likely why you are having the driver install problem.

How did you get your EVM? If it is E2 it should have come with calibration file and the older software/user guide with instructions for installing the drivers.
