DCA1000EVM: about Prerequisites - HOST PC configuration

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642BOOST

Hi,

We just got our DCA1000EVM capture card today. And we plan to use this capture card together with IWR1642BOOST in laboratory.

"DCA1000EVM Data Capture Card User Guide" states that host PC should have Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz or above and Windows 10 Pro operating system. But our laptops used for laboratory are pretty old, they are using Intel Core i3 and Windows 7 operating system. Is it ok to use our old laptops to collect raw data by using DCA1000EVM? Should we change the Ethernet delay time to prevent data loss? Or we must change the laptops?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Jiadi

  • Jiadi,

You  will have a better experience with the recommended setup, but it does not mean that your setup will not work.

    Best to try it out.

If you notice packet loss, increase the Packet Delay.

You can see the details (if any packets are lost) after you press the PostProc button in mmWave studio ->SensorConfig->Capture and Post Processing. (Sample below)

Let me know if you have any doubts.
