AWR1642BOOST: UART port of AWR1642 connectivity to other

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, , AWR1243

Hi,

I have following queries regarding UART connectivity of AWR1642 board.

1. We connect AWR1642 and demo visualizer using COM port & send the Config file to the device. After sensor is made up through visualizer  what if I want to use the same USB port to send the data to other board? Is this possible?

2. Can we send the configurations to the board through some code? Sending it through some tool is the only option?

3. If (1) is possible, how can we tweak the data to be sent to through USB? In what format it is sent? Can I get some more details about it.

Regards,

Varsha

  • Varsha,

The AWR1642BOOST is designed to act as a standalone device. At this point, it is not possible to send the output from one AWR1642BOOT EVM to another AWR1642BOOST EVM.

You can use any CLI tool to send the configuration commands to your device. You can also program the configuration settings into the flash application and have the program boot up and being chirping.

  • Kyle,

Not another AWR1642 EVM, what if TDA2px comes into picture?

Is there any possible way to send the processed data to TDAxx?

  • Varsha,

In that case, you would utilize the LVDS high speed protocol for sending out the raw ADC data to the TDAxx processor. Please keep in the mind that the TDAxx processor is paired with a cascaded solution of AWR1243 devices. The AWR1642 is designed to be a completely standalone radar device.
