Hi all,

Is there any ultrasonic solution from TI that can be used to measure the density of solids? I need to find the density of rubber upto 8inches diameter

The ultrasound can be used to find the density. Please follow the app note below, this should be similar to the liquid level measurement as described in the app note below.

So, I can use single transducer isn't it?

Our system consists of water carrying pipe inside the rubber, the pipe is around 10mm to 30mm (It varies and unknown), I need the density of the rubber alone, so the ultrasonic speed inside the whole material varies, so how can I calculate the whole speed?

Vipin,

It is an interesting setup with a water carry pipe inside a rubber.
You could try a single transducer and it will get multiple reflection of sound waves. The first reflection will be from the rubber pipe interface and that tof will provide you the rubber density.

which transducers is recommended for TDC1000-Q1, evm

The evm comes with transducers? can we use 100w transducer to the evm?

Vipin,

A Steminc 15mm 1Mhz transducer is included in the evaluation kit TDC1000-TDC7200EVM. In case you would want to use a high voltage driven transducers we recommend the TDC1000 GAS EVM.
