AWR1243: AWR1243 cascade

Hi,

how the 20 GHz compensation network must be implemented if i want to use 8 AWR1243 module connected in a cascade (1 Master and 7 slave) ?

In according with the constraint reported in the AWR1243 Cascade document, 20 GHz LO Sync Link Budget section.

    Hi Marco,

    We do not currently have a reference design for an 8x AWR1243 cascade configuration.

    I'm checking about possible 20 GHz compensation networks for such a design and will get back to you next week.

    Hello Marco,
    To make sure that the 20Ghz SYNC IN amplitudes are high enough for good RF performance you might need to use a 20Ghz amplifier and then split the output of the amplifier to the 8 devices (using passive splitter on the board). We have not tried this, but if it should work. If the amplifier gain is high then you can use just one of the 20Ghz o/p from the master that is fed to the amplifier.
