AWR1642BOOST: Velocity wrap around in doppler range graph

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST

 Hey

We are using AWR 1642 with short range configuration.

In the USRR range ,we observed that objects are being plotted in the doppler range graph at -10 m/s even though when the radar is placed in a environment with less moving objects .

is there a way to aviod it?

TIA

  • This can occur due to max velocity enhancement in USRR case where it can output point with this value for some corner case. You can either ignore this event or try to disable Max-Velocity feature in USRR case.

  • Could you tell us the file where max velocity enhancement can be disabled ?.

  • Hello Shraavan,

    In srr_config_consts.h you can set the "MAX_VEL_ENH_PROCESSING"  to "0" to  disable the max velocity enh .

    You could also ignore the negetive doppler values in point cloud processing  by doing below modification in "MmwDemo_XYestimation()" in dss_data_path.c

    Before:

        if(obj->processingPath == POINT_CLOUD_PROCESSING)

       {

           numSearchBins = numAngleBins*2;

       }

    After:

    if(obj->processingPath == POINT_CLOUD_PROCESSING)

       {

           numSearchBins = numAngleBins;

       }

    This change will ignore the wrapped values.

    Thanks,

    Raghu
