IWR1443BOOST: How can I connect two IWR1443BOOST boards to a single computer.

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM, AWR1243

I have two IWR1443BOOST boards, each connected to a DCA1000EVM using the 60 Pin HD Adapter. On board is configured to use the default IP address and the other use configured to use a different IP address stored in EEPROM. When I boat up mmWaveStudios it detects both boards.

I check one of the boxes and then click on "Set", followed by "Connect" and finally I run my Lua Script. Normally, with only one board connected, my Lua Script runs fine and the firmware is loaded onto the board. However, when I try to run the same script with two boards it just gets stuck and never finishes running. Is it possible to connect two boards to one computer? Do I need to make some kind of modification to my LUA script?

  • Hello Salah,

Can you please help us understand a bit more about the setup :
    - Do you have two instances of mmWave studio running?
-Are these started from the same executable?

Finally are you expecting two data files to be saved separately?

Data from two files will have to be correlated during post processing outside the mmWave studio post processing.

We should be able to help you get two runs going given that you have two isntances of mmWave Studio running.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

I only have one instance of mmWaveStudio running and if I try to start another it gives me an error saying "Application already running. Only one instance of this application is allowed"

In the screenshot I posted you will see on the left hand side it recognizes that there are two board connected. I'm assuming that's because mmWaveStudio is set-up to work with multipule board. The problem is I'm only able get one running at a time.

As for the files, I plan on running my own post-processing. The challenge right now is just collecting the data.

  • Salah,

mmWave studio does not support multiple setups for EVM's or DCA1000, this capability is reserved for AWR1243.

Sorry for the confusion, but if you give a little more details on what you are trying to achieve we might be able to help.
