TDC1000: Everything You Need to Know for Ultrasonic ToF (Liquid-Coupled) [Collateral, Tools, Designs, FAQ]

Part Number: TDC1000

Hi Bharat,

I was wondering if there are any specific examples of the use of a TDC1000-TDC2700EVM ( or the flow TDC1000-GASEVM) that use lower frequency ultrasonic transducers, doing "in air" echo measurements.

I have listed some of the transducers I have tried to use with the dev. kits.

I did observe that for the TDC1000-TDC2700EVM that on the RX2 input pin there is a 200 pfd cap. at the input, at these lower frequencies, should this be made ~ 2000 pfd instead?

My measurements are in air and short range ( 2" to 12".)

The specific parts that I have tried to operate include:

1. TR-2465/150 (from Massa)- a 150KHz transducer

2. E-188/220 (from Massa)- a 220 KHz transducer

3. Senscomp (618909LF)- a 125 KHz transducer

4. a STEMInc SMATR300H19XDA 300 KHz transducer

Can provide spec. sheets.

I set the appropriate  frequency to hit resonance for each part, tried both the standard TDC-1000-TDC2700EVM ( lower voltage) and the higher drive of the TDC1000-GASEEVM ( 30 V pk-pk setting), when I look  at the COMP_In pin  can see a transmission pulse ( as well as seeing this on the actual transducer)  I can not see any return pulses from the trandsucer and as such do not get the desired stop pulse to coincide with this...

Any help on homing in on the reason for not seeing any transducer reception response would be appreciated.
