OPT3101: EMI Isolation Rings

Hi,

It seems that the EMI isolation rings cannot be mounted on the pcb if applying "Good layout example 2" as the pcb layout.
So, are the EMI isolation rings unnecessary if using a chip type LED and PD ?

Hi Kato,

This is correct. Chip optics have much shorter leads so requirement for electrical isolation is less. You may still need optical isolation structure though.
