MMWAVE-STUDIO: Saving post-processed data option

Part Number: MMWAVE-STUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM, IWR1642BOOST

Hello,

I tried to look in all the documentation I could for an option to save the post processed data by the Matlab GUI but I couldn't find anything.

I would be very interested on saving the 'Detection & Angle estimation Results' for the whole capture (for all the frames) to do further post processing / tracking development.

I know we can save single figures or a "movie" of the whole capture, however; I am interested in the actual values.

The setup we are using is the IWR1642BOOST with the DCA1000EVM data capture board.

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards.

  • Fernando,

There is currently no way to save the values produced by the postproc script.
But since you have access to the DCA1000, all the raw data is saved to the bin file and you may process that data.

  • Hi Alex,

Thank you for the quick reply.

We are trying to build an actual product with this mmWave radar and we would need to be able to have different test scenarios and regression coverage from ADC raw samples (from the DCA1000) to detections (what we care at the moment) for different parameters configuration.

I could run the post processing Matlab code on the raw sample, however; I couldn't find this code publicly available (which would be really useful anyways). Is there any way to get it from somewhere?

If not, is there any possibility to request this feature for the next mmWave Studio release? (Since, I think, it won't take much development time to implement and will be really helpful for developing with this platform).

    Regards.

  • Fernando,

Unfortunately the code for the postproc is not available to be shared at this time, but it may change in the future.
