OPT3101EVM: Evaluation board only shows one com port

Hi,

I'm trying to get my OPT3101 evaluation module up and running and I'm having issues getting it connected.

I managed to get one of the drivers installed (the Control one, as the ID ended in zero), but it's not showing another com port.

I'm using Windows 10 pro, build 17134.rs4_release.180410-1804 in Test Mode and with all the driver signing stuff turned off (which allowed me to install the Control Driver). I've tried rebooting the machine, and using different microUSB cables and I'm still having issues.

Below is a screenshot of my device manager screen, along with the hardware ID of the module.

Any advice?

Have you checked our training videos? There is an EVM video you can go through to make sure everything was done correctly.

Hi Rachel,

Can you please send a picture of the EVM you are using?

Is the COM1 port linked to the EVM as well in your screenshot or some other device?

If you happen to have an older version it will only show one COM port and you will should have gotten the older version of the GUI and guide with the EVM to run with it rather than the online version.

Hi Alex,

Here is a picture of my EVM - I'm unsure of exactly when we got it (I just inherited this project). As far as I know the only thing we've altered has been the LED to the laser that's currently on there.

(Sorry for the huge picture)

The COM1 is linked to some other device - COM3 is the only thing in my device manager that vanishes when I unplug the board (I checked other things like keyboards or mice, just in case it was registering as something else).

Is there somewhere I can download the older version of the GUI if I do have an older version?
