TMP1075: TMP1075 Compare to PCT2075

Part Number: TMP1075

Dear Team,

My customer is using PCT2075 right now.

I will need your help here to clarify some question.

Right now PCT2075's temp default is around 80C, after start-up the customer will use I2C modify thermal shut down to 100C.

If the customer removes the plug during high temp, and replug in will cause PCT2075's temp thermal shut down go back to default value 80C which cause system can't turn on successfully.

Can TMP1075 also modify temp fault by I2C, how?

Can TMP1075 modify temp default value?

BR

Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

There is a high-limit register on the TMP1075. THigh is the equivalent register to TOS on the PCT2075. Just write the desired over temperature shutdown value to this register via I2C. In Comparator mode (Default) the Tlow value will work in the same way as the THyst register on the PCT2075. They are even at the same address.

Unfortunately you can't change the TMP1075 default POR value. To do that you would need a sensor with nonvolatile memory such as the TMP116. They could also use an analog temperature sensor such as the TMP235 with a comparator.

    Best Regards,
