Date Code decrypting

Part LM2937ES-15 has first line marking as "86AEX5 UE3" How do you read the date code? I was told that the "6" means June, so does any week that has a June date be used as a basis for date code. Paperwork comes from distributor and their CofC states DC as 1822 - so is this correct? Where can I get a sheet that help decipher the codes?

  • Hi Michael,

The code can be read as follows. The first 7 digits are the lot trace code:

    8 - year (2018)

    6 - month (June)

    AEX5 - assembly lot code

    U - factory code

The last part is the environmental code:

    E3 - environmental rating (Green category 3)

There is more information about lot codes in the TI Support FAQs here:

    Thanks,

    Gerard

  • I understand the information you stated. However, the second question was not answered.
For the month of June - does any date in June (i.e. June 1 through Jun 30) define that any week of June can be used on a C of C from a distributor? Example Week 22 is May 22 through June 3. So would a date code on a C of C stating 1822 be acceptable for your marking of "86" for 6 (June) June 1 through June 30th? So marking of "86" could mean a C of C with acceptable date codes of 1822 through 1826? Additionally are the months Oct, Nov, and Dec defined as letters (i.e. A, B, C)?
  • Hi Michael,

That is acceptable since the 22nd week of this year included dates June 1, 2, and 3 as you mentioned previously. You are also correct in thinking that 1822 through 1826 would be acceptable since the 26th week of this year was the last week with dates in June.

Yes, October is indicated with 'A', November with 'B', and December with 'C'.

    Thanks,
    Gerard
