Ultrasonic Metal Thickness Measurement

Hi all, I want to design a circuit to measure the thickness of metal using the dual element ultrasonic transducer. I am wondering if TI has any kind of IC chips that work for this circuit. I had a look at TDC1000 and PGA460, but it seems like they are only for distance measuring (through the air), liquid level measuring (through the liquid), not the metal thickness measuring. I want to measure the thickness of the metal. Could you please give me some suggestions about the IC chips for ultrasonic metal thickness measuring application. Thank you!

Hello

Unfortunately TI does not have a single IC solution that can be used for metal thickness using ultrasonic. That will generally need to measure loss of ultrasound power when received in the other side generally at high frequency. To guess thickness of metal. This is something the ICs that you mentioned cannot do.
