IWR1443: receivers and transmitters impedance

Part Number: IWR1443

Hi,

Do you have data describing complex impedance of IWR1443 receivers and transmitters?

Regards,
Gennadii

  • Hi,

Can you please provide some more details on the data needed and why it is needed?

If you are referring to the TX and RX path impedance, the recommendation is to design 50 ohms traces.

    Regards,

  • Hi,

I need impedances or scattering parameters for matching IWR1443 TX and RX to our circuits.
Microwave chips impedance differs from 50 ohms in real world, especially when they have such bandwidth as IWR1443.
    I’d appreciate any data available.

  • Hello,

To get an optimal match between the device RF ball and PCB trace, the package to PCB transition layout needs to be designed appropriately. TI has built Rogers-based EVM boards and recommends the customer who uses Rogers materials, to use TI’s recommended transition.

This transition allows the package to match to a 50 Ω transmission line for the full bandwidth supported by the device at the edge of the package (approximately 1.3 mm from the center of the signal pad), This would be reference plane of 50 Ohm for the Antenna interface.

Please refer to below application note for the RF transition design and manufacturing guideline:
