IWR1443BOOST: Problem by Flashing via UniFlash [Recheck COM port selected and/or permissions.]

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, IWR6843, MMWAVE-SDK, IWR1642, IWR1443

Hello,

I'm trying to update the firmeware from 1.0 to the latest version 3.0. I put SOP 0 and SOP 2 to 1 and downloaded the

"xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss_rprc.bin" file from the website.

With UniFlash i selected the correct UART-Port (COM4) and started flashing.

Unfortunatly I got the error message below

My ports in the device manager and the setup in UniFlash

Can anybody help me

Best regards

  • Hi Kevin,

    The mmWave-SDK 3.0 is the IWR6843 Devices.

    The mmWave-SDK 2.1 is for IWR1642 ES2.0, IWR1443 ES3.0 Devices.

    The mmWave-SDK 1.2 is for IWR1642 ES1.0, IWR1443 ES2.0 Devices.

Please use the correct SDK version for the device that you currently have.

    Cheers,
    Akash
  • Thank you for your response.

Why is it listed as a "Supported Platforms" on the mmwave sdk 3.0 page and the bin File name is "xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss_rprc"?

Nevertheless,  I tried it with the older Version 1.2 and had the same error message.

"Image loading failed: Not able to connect to serial port. Recheck COM port selected and/or permissions."

  • Hi Kevin,

A few things might be going on here, first I'd check to make sure nothing else on your machine is connected to the UART port.

Secondly, I'd recommend trying with a different USB cable.

Let me know if this doesn't work and we can look into this issue further.

    Cheers,

  • I tried to flash the mmwave_sdk_01_02_00_05 with a new USB-cable and it worked. Afterwards I powered off the board and removed

jumpers from "SOP2" pin and leaved the jumper on "SOP0" pin. Sadly now the NERR_OUT-LED turns on when the device is in use.
