LDC1000: NRND status

Part Number: LDC1000

Hello.

LDC1000NHRJ status is NRND now. can you suggest replacement or upgrant solution for us. Thanks

  • Hi AJ,
Please look into LDC131x (12 bit resolution) and LDC161x (28 bit resolution). These will be your replacement for LDC1000. Note the above devices can only do L measurements not Rp.

  • Dear Bala.
    Thank you for your reply.
Our customer product application is printer use LDC1000 for paper detection.
They linking the coil to the LDC 1000 with a 300mm cable. Can we use LDC1612 or LDC1312 for same function?
We also need to know what is the farthest distance of the LDC1000 for this application?
What is the difference between LDC1000 / LDC1612 / LDC1312 except Number of bits and CH is something we need to pay attention to.
The old design was made with LDC1000. Can the new design be changed to LDC1312 or LDC1612?
    Thanks for kindly help.
  • Hi AJ,

Sorry about the delayed response. Yes, as long as there is a reasonable inductance change with paper as a target, either LDC1612 or LDC1312 could be used for your customer's application. There is no fixed farthest distance, it depends on the inductor size. For example, an inductor with 2x size measures 2x distance. Also closer target position is better, because it leads to a larger shift in inductance. Please refer to the plot below:

Please find below for a brief comparison between the devices:

As long as the old design was based on L measurement (not Rp measurement), it can be changed to a new design with LDC1312 or LDC1612.

I will go ahead and close this thread, if you've any follow-up questions please go ahead and start a new thread.
