Hi team,

Could you please help with the question below.

I have the problem that if i start the mmWave studio while the IWR1642 is connected via USB i receive an error in the console of mmWave Studio that it is not possible to start the Matlab suite. I have installed the recommended software tools including the Matlab Runtime, do i have to set up the board for the connection?

Needhu,

I would recommend that you re-install mmWave studio and the Runtime.
mmWave Studio / MatLab, should not have issues starting if the EVM its connected.
Are you using a DCA1000?

Hi Alex,

The customer wants to connect IWR1642 with the mmWave studio to Change a Parameter of the Chirps eg on the Vital Signs demo on the TI Research explorer.
Is this scenario possible with my IWR1642 or does he need the DCA1000 beside the IWR1642?
Why is it necessary to use the DCA1000 here?

Needhu,

You don't need to use the DCA1000, to modify the labs.
I asked if you are using the DCA1000, because you mentioned mmWave studio.
If you just want to modify the parameters of labs I would suggest you look at the documentation that is included in each lab (user's guide), and download the required software, matlab, industrial toolbox, Code composer, etc. each lab will have its requirements.

The customer wants to do something similar to the following e2e thread.

He wants to config the sensor himself. Do we need a data TSW1400 here or a DCA1000?

Needhu,

If you want to capture raw ADC data yes, either a TWS1400 or i would recommend the DCA1000.
This would be great if you are trying to develop your own algorithm or characterize our devices.
Here is a video on how to capture data with the DCA1000 to familiarize yourself.
