I would like to do a multistatic experiment with transmission from one AWR1642Boost and reception on a different one. How do I synchronize the two systems?

Hello Enson,
Typically FMCW radar is used as monostatic radar where the same LO is used for transmit and receive. AWR1642 does not support this type synchronization.
But if you want to do some kind of crude synchronization at the frame level you can use external SYNC signal fed to both the 1642 devices on the SYNC IN pin and program me the frame to be in HW triggered mode. With this each of the devices will start their frame at the pulse edge fed on the SYCN IN pin.

Thank you very much for the reply. The SDK User Guide says under frameCfg that "only option for Software
trigger is selected." Is that an issue, or can I simply select HW trigger?

Hello Enson,
The SDK example code might not have been tested for HW triggered mode, but if you use the APIs for configuration you should be able to use it.

Can you follow up with whether or not you managed to get this hardware trigger implementation to work? I am trying to work on the same issue.
