FDC1004EVM: Using capacitance sensor to measure water height inside pipe

Hi,

I'm using this sensor to determine water height in a pipe and will the equation provided in the datasheet work for this since the electrodes are curved instead of vertical? And should the ratios of capacitances in the Level equation (Page 20 in the datasheet) should be less than one since it is multiplied by the height of the container? For me, testing shows ratio is greater than 1 and goes up to 4.
