AWR1642BOOST: Can't connect to AWR1642Boost on a second PC

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443BOOST

I am posting this for my customer:

I got the two evaluation kits (AWR1642Boost and AWR1443Boost) up and running on my PC (individually), but am having problems getting them to work on another PC. I can see each TI device under ‘Other Devices’ in Device Manager, but can’t get them to appear as COM ports under ‘Ports’. I installed the TI emulator pack (ti_emupack_setup_8.0.903.4_win_32.exe) and that did not resolve the issue. I also tried unsuccessfully to update the device drivers for the TI device.

What do I need to update the device drivers and connect the evaluation kits? Do I need to log in to MyTI account to download any additional files?

 Thank you for your guidance!

  • Hi Mark,
In it's strange issue where EVM work on one PC but on another PC.
Could you try uninstalling XDS110 driver from device-manager (with delete option checked) and post restart the system try re-installing the XDS110 USB driver again (while EVM is connected to system).
Ideally installing ti_emupack is sufficient to get the COM port visible for EVM. I assume same EVM has been used with other PC which is working with old PC.

  • Jitendra - I have forwarded this on to my customer. Yes - I agree, that it is odd that the EVM would work on one PC but not the other.
