AWR1642BOOST: Power consumption calculator, no of chirp

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, IWR1642

Dear Support Team:

When I used the power calculator to calculate the power consumption of AWR1642, the power calculator showed the error message as shown in the filgure, which said that no of chirp's value was the invalid value for calculation.

The values entered in the power calculator were all references from the mmWave demo Visualizer and I drew the same color in the corresponding value, showing in the following figure.

Could you tell me the correct value of the no of chirps and how to get it from the mmWave Demo Visualizer ?

Regards,

Roger

  • Hi Roger,

The power calculator sheet is for IWR1642, so it may not be directly applicable for the AWR1642.

The Demo Visualizer is giving you the correct number of chirps - the excel sheet has restricted the entry for the number of chirps to 64 or higher.

As a workaround, you can use two higher values (say 64 and 128) to get two numbers of Total Average Power Consumption (1.18 and 1.42 W), and extrapolate to get the value for 32 chirps - this is about 0.94 W.

    Best Regards,
    Anand
