IWR1443BOOST: mmWave demo visualizer: sampling, range depth and range profile?

Hi,

I am reading the .dat file generated through the mmWave demo visualizer and using the parseTLV.py code to convert it into readable format. I have a few questions:

(1) What is the sampling rate?

(2) I see that I cannot increase the "Range Depth" beyond 10.47 m. Is this the max range of the sensor?

(3) What does the "range profile Y max = 2e6" mean?

(4) Can I get time-stamped samples from the .dat file generated?

    Hi Akash,

    1. It is difficult to tell this without knowing what configuration you are using, if you post it we can look into this further.

    2. No the Max range of the sensor is actually more than 100 m and even this can be configurable.

    3. Y Max refers to the maximum peak value as seen in the range profile.

    4. Unfortunately they are only frame stamped, so you can figure out the time of each sample based on the frame duration.
