Riko,

It all depends on how you design your sensor! As long as the sensor fits the parameters for the FDC2212, then you can use it in a wide variety of applications.

Thanks for the reply. Clancy, the height is up to 2m,but I can not drill the tank. Is it ok with 2m copper stripes? How much is the optimal distance between the two?

Hi Riko,

Are you trying to do liquid level sensing? If yes please refer to these documents:

Please also see FDC1004 for liquid level sensing:

You can also look in to using ultrasonic as a level sensor. We recommend TDC1000 for it. Please see the applications notes:

www.ti.com/.../snaa220a.pdf

These sensors can be attached from outside. You will have to experiment and decide which sensing methodology suits you best.

Hi Riko

Please see the refrenced app notes for TDC1000 and other technical material for TDC1000 to see how an ultrasonic sensor can be attached non-invasively.

The results and effectiveness of the solution will depend on the material of tank, the shape of tank, the medium in the tank and coupling of transducer to the tank. This is is something that you will have to experiment and see.
