PGA411-Q1: Question regarding overheating PGA411-Q1 chip

Hi,

I have a couple of questions regarding temperature of the PGA411-Q1 chip.

What is the temperature range of the chip, to still be considered as ok (functional)?

And if it would be outside of the range (overheating), what could be causing the issue since the input voltages are ok ?

Hello Matic,

The ambient temperature max is 125C per data sheet provided the junction temperature stays below 150C. You can have higher heating if the exciter current is high and the exciter voltage is high as well. The other reason could be not good soldering and heat sinking on the PCB.
