DCA1000EVM: mmwavelink_example with AWR1243 & DCA1000EVM

Dear TI Support,

I am having difficulty getting mmwavelink_example.c to work with a RevB AWR1243BOOST + DCA1000EVM

mmwavelink_example.c is from mmwave_dfp_01_02_00_01\ti\example\mmwavelink_example

The same AWR1243BOOST and mmwavelink_example code work fine with the AWR1243BOOST+DevPack assembly, suggesting that the DCA1000EVM is the problem.

By stepping through mmwavelink_example with the VS debugger, it looks like rlDevicePowerOn() never receives an async event response.

Here is the listing from the command prompt:

The trace.txt file from the mmwavelink_example directory is empty except for the startup text:

How can I get mmwavelink_example to work with my AWR1243BOOST + DCA1000EVM?

Hi mmUser,

Can you please check if you have the SOP mode jumpers correctly populated?

When you use the DCA1000, can you confirm that you are powering both the AWR1243BOOST as well as the DCA1000EVM with two 5V 2.5A or better supplies?

Hi Anand,

I'm using SOP Dev mode 2 (SOP0 and SOP1 jumpers inserted) and two 5V 3.0A supplies.
I also erased/formatted the Boost SFLASH with UniFlash v4.5.

The AWR1243BOOST+DCA1000EVM are working properly with mmWave Studio.

Can you suggest more tests to help identify the problem?

Hi mmUser,

Can you let me know if this is an ES2.0 or ES3.0 EVM? (mmWave Studio will show this information in the right side.

The AWR1243BOOST is ES3.0.

We need a little more time to check this and get back to you.

Can you confirm that with mmWave Studio, you are using a different SOP mode than with the mmwavelink example?

I'm using SOP Development mode 2 (SOP0 and SOP1 jumpers inserted) for both mmWave Studio and mmwavelink_example.

Hi mmUser,

I apologize for the delay.

I was able to check this now. Could you please populate only the SOP0 jumper and keep the SOP1 and SOP2 open and run again?

The mmwavelink example will do a code download over SPI which will only work in this SOP mode.
