MMWAVE-STUDIO: mmWaveStudio craches during opening without any error message

Hi ,

I try to use mmwaveStudio but it craches during opening without any error message.

It disappears 2 or 3 seconds after I execute its .exe file.

I could take an screen shot from its message window as you can find on the attachment.

Mostafa,

I would suggest to remove the installation

delete the following

RSTD folder; located here C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\RSTD
mmwave_studio_02_00_00_02 folder; located here C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_00_00_02

then re-install following the instruction in the mmwave studio user’s guide in section 2.1 (Installation) and follow very close steps 1 – 4.

Hi Alex,

I have done your suggested steps and installed mmwavestudio again,
but still it crashes even this time I cant see message window.
Lookng forward for more help.

Mostafa,

Did you do the installations as an administrator on your PC?
Is there a possibility to try another computer?

Alex,

Yes, I used administrator password.
I also used a Win 7 virtual machine, It didnt crach but didnt work as well.

Mostafa,

Did you re-download the files?
Perhaps some or one of the files that you installed got corrupted, so i would suggest a clean install with newly downloaded installation files.

Mostafa,

Can you try a separate computer (not virtual machine)?
Also download it from a separate location (home/office), maybe its getting corrupted.

Alex,

Actually it seems that the products are still under development.
I have used two different computers and on each one I get a different error.
On one of them it worked a few of times and then crashed and I never could use it again
even after download it again and reinstaling it.
hope you release a new version soon.

Mostafa,

Ill contact the team in charge of mmWave studio, do you have an antivirus running during the install? maybe that is causing the issue.

Mostafa,

Try reinstalling the matlab runtime engine 8.5.1 as noted in the mmwave users guide on page 6 located in C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_00_00_02\docs

Alex,

I have Symantec and I think it was running during the installation, but it worked first time for at least one week.
Also it works again now but I didnt do any specific change on the system.

That's great to hear, perhaps it was a windows update?
