OPT9221: Saturated pixels mirroring 3D Camera

Part Number: OPT9221

Hi TI,

I have observed a mirroring phenomenon related to the saturated pixels.

Here is an example of such phenomenon on an Amplitude (intensity) image. Colormap: min (0) = Dark blue; max (~800) = Yellow.

Firmware version for OPT9221 used was 0.29

The dark blue pixels are saturated pixels which are set to zero by the FW.

There is an apparent mirroring phenomenon of the saturated pixels - a shift of 4 pixels to the right. This shift of 4 is independent of distance to the target.

The pixels that are mirroring the saturated pixels have most commonly significantly lower amplitude than they should have (~1/3 to ~1/2 of expected value) - cyan in this colormap.

What is very counter-intuitive for me is the fact that these cyan mirrored pixels often have lower ambient value (more ambient) than the saturated pixels that are  supposedly causing their strange value. (ambient 0 - 15 with 0 being the highest amount of ambient light)

Would you please comment on this strange behaviour?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Martin
